Bodog MLB Betting Odds: Los Angeles Angels vs Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers play host to the Los Angeles Angels in a three-game MLB betting series this weekend, an AL West matchup that we won't see again until the final week of the regular season.
That means if the Angels want to take advantage of a head-to-head showdown against the team they're chasing for a playoff berth in the AL West standings, this weekend presents that opportunity.
Actually, last week presented that opportunity as well, but the Angels botched that four-game series at home by falling three times to the Rangers.
So this weekend Los Angeles gets a chance at a little redemption on the MLB odds at the Bodog Sportsbook as they try to improve their odds of winning the AL Pennant and the 2011 World Series this fall.
Currently the Angels are back at 18/1 on the AL Pennant odds, and at 35/1 odds to win the 2011 World Series. The division-leading Rangers sit at 5/1 to claim the AL Pennant in October, and at 10/1 on the World Series odds right now.
First up on Friday night is a matchup between the Angels' Dan Haren (13-6, 2.98 ERA) and the Rangers' Derek Holland (11-5, 4.42 ERA).
Righthander Haren got a win over the Orioles in his last trip to the mound (three runs on nine hits over seven innings of work), and overall he's 5-1 with four no-decisions over his last 10 outings.
That stretch, though, included a rough start against the Rangers in which he allowed seven runs on nine hits in just 4 1-3 innings pitched. Los Angeles, however, bailed Haren out in that contest, scoring nine times in a 9-8 victory.
Lefthander Holland was knocked around by the White Sox last time out (five runs on eight hits in 3 1-3 innings), and he was the loser against Haren in that 9-8 contest last month – allowing seven runs on nine hits in his 5 1-3 innings of work. The lefthander, though, did top Los Angeles last week (three runs on nine hits in 8 2-3 innings).
